Hello
I'm Ty Noard, a therapist at Stepping Stone Family Services and a Licensed Master of Social Work graduate from the University of Iowa. Throughout my career in mental health and human services, I have worked with at-risk youth, in child welfare, and in various hospital settings. I’ve always been driven by a desire to help, support, and serve others. As a therapist, I’m able to uphold these values while also fostering growth, encouragement, motivation, and healing in those I work with.
Areas of Interest
I primarily work with adults and teens, but I also have extensive experience in child welfare and other community-based work with children, adults, and families. My areas of specialization include:
● Anxiety
● Depression
● Mindfulness
● Self-Esteem
● Motivation
● Trauma & Recovery
● Attachment
● Family Systems & Conflict
Approaches
I aim to foster a safe space where clients feel heard, respected, and valued. My approach is to meet clients where they are, while helping them explore their values, beliefs, strengths, and both short- and long-term goals. I believe in maintaining open, honest dialogue in a relaxed, comfortable setting. My commitment is to offer support, guidance, and encouragement, while motivating clients to explore new solutions to challenges, fostering their growth and success.
I prefer to remain flexible, tailoring my approach to each client's unique needs. This may involve using solution-focused or strength-based techniques, cognitive behavioral strategies, mindfulness and coping skills, family systems therapy, and trauma-informed care.
About Me
I enjoy staying active through a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, including sports, fitness, landscaping, and spending quality time with family and friends.
