Hello
My name is Andrew Barbee, and I am a clinical practicum student under the supervision of Alma Henry, LISW. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Youth and Family Ministry and am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University. I bring experience providing home and community-based services, working with children, adolescents, and adults navigating a variety of challenges.

I was first drawn to counseling during the pandemic, when I witnessed the profound challenges individuals and families faced. That experience deepened my commitment to supporting vulnerable populations, especially children, and inspired me to pursue a career in mental health counseling.

Approaches
I believe counseling is a collaborative process, where the client and counselor work together to achieve meaningful goals. My approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Strengths-Based Counseling, and Person-Centered Therapy. In a world that often prioritizes productivity, I value patience as one of the greatest ways to show care. This perspective guides my counseling style: meeting clients where they are and honoring their unique pace in the process of growth and healing.
About Me
When I’m not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my family. I love playing tennis with my wife, watching New England Patriots football, and experimenting with new espresso creations. I also enjoy taking our dog, Cooper, for walks through the park.
